This blog is not meant to make you feel good. This blog will not justify your lifestyle. This blog will not reinforce your status quo. It will make you feel uncomfortable.

This blog is meant to address your discontent, rattle your foundations, move you to the edge of (and sometimes over) your comfort zone. This blog is based on the idea that you cannot grow significantly unless you are uncomfortable…kicked out of the nest, pushed out of the womb, broken free from the chrysalis.

If you read this and feel vulnerable, unsure, angry, confused, or defensive, and it causes you to respond with new questions of life, faith, and God…then I’ve done my job.

I want to shake your foundations. Rattle your cages. Push you to think harder, see differently, and respond passionately. I want to address your “holy discontent,” those preciously important times in your faith where you are spiritually uncomfortable, restless, bored, or dissatisfied with your faith, church, worship…even God. Holy discontent is a gift FROM God and God’s way of telling us it’s time to take your next step in faith—ready or not!

Ready to leave Egypt and go into the wilderness?

  1. Thank you for sharing. What you wrote really spoke to me. It was very moving and powerful. May God continue to bless you and your family. Miss y’all here in Charlotte but happy you got out of the “boat”.

Tell me what you think...
